A low-cost subdivision project, the proposed design allows the buyers to hold on to  their own identities as compared to typical socialized housing projects whose designs are “pigeon-hole” or “cookie-cutter”. A faceted secondary skin made of expanded metal mesh was used as a design strategy to give a similar, yet not identical character to each house. The skin also functions as a bris-soleil to shield the full-louvered window facades from the heat of the sun, simultaneously allowing winds to go through because of the skin’s porous nature.
