The simple massing of this residence is accentuated by solid stone-clad walls with “slits” on it, providing glimpses to and from the interior spaces of the house. These solid surfaces are highlighted by transparent glass panels or “voids” that make it appear as if the stone walls float in the midst of thin air. The “slit” strategy, an approach that achieves both solidity and transparency, becomes the recurring theme all throughout the house, which comes in different forms – frosted doors, wood slatted walls, etc.
