Capilla del Sagrado Corazon, is a very intimate chapel within hacienda San Benito, a 22-hectare subdivision whose main theme is that of a “filipino farm”. For this reason, it was apt to draw inspiration from a farm’s typical produce for its’ shape. most (if not all) products that come from a farm posses a shape with a curved surface – strawberries, coffee beans, grapes – just to mention a few. a segment from these shapes was selected and cut-out from its origin, and was used as the structure’s roof covering, multiplied and arrayed around a circular plan, again emphasizing its origin.
